Visitors to this interactive exhibit can experience and engage with the poetry collection created for the Writing Across Borders exhibit. Participants are invited to respond to curated texts from the Chautauqua Literary and Scientific Circle reading list and summer season speaker lectures through creating a found-poem using the EMERGE app. The exhibit also encourages play through a life-size, scrabble-like Stanza Wall where adults and children alike can create a mural-like poem. Finally, Chautauquans can contribute to a growing community poem based on each of the weekly themes using the THREAD app. Join in the fun, learning, and exploration by visiting the Chautauqua Institution this summer or follow along through the digital community view of each digital-toolkit app.
Follow along with each week's Chautauqua prompts below and read the poems created all summer.

Art can create a culture; it can cross borders; it can sing of possibility.
It is said that those who do not remember their history are doomed to repeat it. So we look to that history, and to the communities, movements and ideas existing at the fringes in our world today.
With crowdsourcing, social media campaigns and new distribution channels, films aimed at effecting social and cultural change have found audiences unlike any time in the history of the art form.
Traveling Stanzas community arts projects bring poetry to people’s everyday lives through innovative methods and digital platforms.
